is there nothing above level 7?
cause i cant go any higher than 7 there :-/

how does one cast fireball? I only see the sword damage being deducted :-/

Let me start off with it looks fantastic! I like the idea of a launch-able fireball. It feels weird to have enemy difficulty be a setting instead of them scaling up over time. The sword also doesn't seem to do anything.

A. Need to exit back to the menu for purchased upgrades to take effect.

B. would like to see a 'minus' button for going a level back.

For A: I don't know what you mean by "need to exit back to the menu for purchased upgrades to take effect." Upgrades update the frame after you purchase them except the big damage button which scales with the difficulty level. The icon  in the bottom corner (which I am assuming is what button you may be pressing think its a back button) is just meant to save your game.

For B: I added in a button that will reduce the difficulty level so that you can see the monster on that level.

Turned out it was only needed once, to get DPS above zero. (which could mean that the variable that regulates it is misinitialized)
